US Chocolate Online Category Scorecard
Overall US Chocolate sales reached $21.1 billion in 2014, growing 2.9% year over year. We analyzed online product Availability, Content, & Search performance of over 1,000 brands in four US retailers to identify which brands are poised to win in the digital channel.
Our analysis shows that US Chocolate brands perform strongly on Availability at some online retailers, but opportunities exist to improve on others. Not having items available to be shipped is a major roadblock to success in the online channel.
Also, some well-known Chocolate brands can make a serious boost to their online performance by increasing positive Review counts. Focusing on all four of these metrics will help brands optimize their online channel presence and performance, increasing both online and offline sales.
