US Canned Fruit Online Category Scorecard
With over 50% of US shoppers regularly purchasing Grocery categories online, the sector now has the third highest rate of penetration behind Clothing and Electronics. We analyzed over 100 brands in the Canned Fruit category across three leading US online retailers to identify the category leaders against key ecommerce metrics.
The analysis shows how U.S Canned Fruit brands are offering a visually engaging shopping experience at some online retailers, but have the opportunity to continue to maximize the experience at others. It also reinforces how online has leveled the playing field. Brands that are big offline don’t aren’t necessarily top dog in the online channel. Overall, brands that take a holistic approach to performance, set themselves up to succeed in the online channel.
